Psalm 100 v 2 says ‘Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs…’ and at Renovate Life Church we certainly do so! We love contemporary worship songs, rooted on Biblical scriptures that allow us to worship and revere our amazing God.

Our worship leader is Hannah Hocking who has such an incredible God-given voice! She recently joined MJK (Make Jesus Known) who are a Christian band who travel up and down the country putting on concerts for young people singing the Gospel in a modern, rap style. Whenever she can though she comes home to Renovate Life Church and leads us.

Here are a few words from Hannah explaining a little about how she came to sing for Jesus:

I have always loved to sing. It’s a talent and a gift God has given to me, and it’s where my heart is. From a young age, I have been involved in choirs, school concerts/ plays, church bands and many more things, and I always remember how it made my week whenever I received a solo part, (it made my week) lol x

I am also from an amazing musical family and there hasn’t been a period of time where music and singing hasn’t been a part of my life. I started to get involved in worship at the age of 10 in my church youth band and in my early teenage years I began to lead songs and sing harmonies as part of the main worship band, which I loved. As I got older, there was a short time where I drifted away from church and did my own thing. I always kept God in my heart, however, I put barriers up, wasn’t living right, stopped myself going to church and my faith was little… but I never let him go.

I then found Renovate Life Church through my family, and was asked to sing the special item one evening. The song I chose was ‘Lead me to the Cross’ and when I sung the lyrics, ‘lead me to your heart’, he did. I broke down on stage and cried. God did something in me that night which I can’t describe. I knew the barriers needed to come down and I needed to get back involved with church, so I did, and made Renovate my home. Shortly after, I got back into worship. It has been a hard, yet humbling journey for me, however, I know God has got it all under control.

As well as singing, Jesus Christ is my passion in life. I want to bless and impact lives, lead people into God’s amazing holy presence, see people set free and lives turned around through Him. And I am so, so blessed to have the opportunity to get to know new people and lead you and help you go deeper on your own journey.
